Matt Morris writes songs. Some of them you already know.

Over twenty-five years he's written for Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Cher, Rachel Platten, Sarah McLachlan, Joy Williams, Mary J. Blige, Reba McEntire, Kimbra, Selena Gomez, Idina Menzel, and James Bay, among others. His credits move across a lot of ground — but what connects them isn't a genre. It's a sensitivity to what a particular artist needs to say and how they need to say it.

Notable cuts include "Miss Independent" (Clarkson, No. 1), "(Another Song) All Over Again" (Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveSounds), "Woman's World" (Cher, Closer to the Truth), and "Stand By You" (Platten). In 2010 he performed "Hallelujah" with Timberlake and Charlie Sexton at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon — the recording hit No. 1 on iTunes — and released his album When Everything Breaks Open on Tennman/Interscope.

He is based in Denver and writes anywhere.
